Vinous Neal Martin - 12 Dec 23
The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with yellow fruit, melted candle wax and touches of white peach. This shows fine delineation and perhaps the most effervescent aromatics of the flight. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and a touch of stem ginger lending spice. There is a palpable sense of energy at first, but in the glass, it deteriorates and becomes rather cloying and lacking in tension. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
